Grains tiring at key resistance

FOR TUESDAY: (2/14) Cycles and technical signals look lower for meats a few more days. Grains are stubborn but seem like they are tiring at key resistance areas. Would still expect overbought conditions to lead to breaks this week. Will stay patient.Continue reading

Grains may hold up one more day

FOR FRIDAY: (2/10) Grains closed firm with beans failing the most. Possible that the market could hold up one more day but then the grains should turn lower next week. Hogs look lower and still need a deeper break of 7000 to confirm a top; cattle continue to look a bit sickly.Continue reading

Cattle and hogs look lower for a few day

FOR THURSDAY: (2/9) Grains are waiting for USDA report on Thursday but cycles look lower into Friday so not thinking the report will go well, and we should use any rallies to get short. Beans remain a bit crazy as always but we feel good selling and hedging corn and wheat at these levels. Cattle and hogs look lower for a few days.Continue reading

Look to sell feeders on rallies

FOR WEDNESDAY: (2/8) Grains are waiting for USDA report on Thursday but cycles look lower into Friday so not thinking the report will go well and we should use any rallies to get short. Hogs could easily hold up one more day and we should be selling feeders on rallies.Continue reading

Grain cycles look lower into Friday

FOR TUESDAY: (2/7) Grains are waiting for USDA report on Thursday but cycles look lower into Friday so not thinking the report will go well and we should use any rallies to get short. Cattle continue to act toppy and suggest a sale and we’re top-picking hogs here and may exit by early Wednesday if they can’t break.Continue reading

Cattle still look higher one more day

FOR FRIDAY: (2/3) Grain cycles look weak on Friday but we’re hoping that SA weather will keep them sideways and that a final high will come in over the weekend for better sales. Cattle still look higher one more day and hogs lower on Friday.Continue reading

Will start adding corn shorts

FOR THURSDAY: (2/2) Our patience paid off as the friendly cycle finally gave the market a lift. We will use this rally to starting adding corn shorts and may have to be more patient with beans. Cycles are more clearly lower Friday and Sunday and we’ll make sure that the grains markets do not get too far ahead of themselves.

Will trade fade the cattle report?

FOR WEDNESDAY: (2/1) Still waiting for bounces into Thursday to short grains and so far they are cooperating. Cattle inventory was bearish as expected but does it become another cattle on fade report? Cycles suggest a recovery into Friday for those wanting to fight the new fundamentals. Hogs should top out within a few days and we can be short until at least the 9th if not longer.Continue reading

Cattle may fill their gaps and set up March Feeder hedges

FOR TUESDAY: (1/31) The weather play for South American grains is over now. Markets have issued clearer daily chart sell signals for grains but are oversold and we need a recovery into Thursday or early Friday to have better risk/reward for selling. Cattle may fill their gaps if we’re lucky and set up March Feeder hedges. Not sure the game is over for live cattle yet.Continue reading
